Jake is an amazing teacher. He makes learning fun and definitely challenges the student to keep learning more. He is sensitive to their emotional state that day and helps the student maximize their time with him regardless of what happened before they came through his door. He meets them where they are at- and then guides them along to where he thinks they can go. Not only is my daughter a better drummer, but she is listening to music in a more discerning fashion since studying with Jake. As her skills develop, her confidence in life increases. I have been a teacher (not of music) for 20 years, and I think Jake is a gifted instructor. He makes me want to take drum lessons to see what I can accomplish!
